PNW announces new Director of Grantmaking
Philanthropy Northwest is pleased to announce that Ryan Smith will be the new Director of Grantmaking. Ryan joins PNW to lead the final grantmaking phase of the Thriving Communities Program, a three-year partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), designed to help local organizations address the environmental and public health challenges that matter most to their communities.

SCAR welcomes new Operations Director
Spokane Community Against Racism (SCAR) is pleased to welcome Invonne (Evee) Polanski as its new Operations Director. Evee was selected after an extensive search and will support internal capacity building to support SCAR’s mission. SCAR was founded in 2017 as a community-accountable, Black-led organization seeking to identify and address systemic racism. Through education, advocacy, research, and community engagement, SCAR challenges the systems that perpetuate harms disproportionately impacting communities of color in the Spokane community.
