Inatai Foundation welcomes Director of Leadership & Capacity Building
Carolyn Ho Consulting is pleased to announce that Katherine Un joins Inatai Foundation as its Director of Leadership and Capacity Building on July 1st. Katherine brings more than a decade of experience advancing racial and economic equity through rural organizing, leadership development, and movement building.
Most recently, Katherine served as co-Executive Director of the National Young Farmers Coalition, the largest unified voice advocating for equity in US agriculture. At Young Farmers, Katherine led organizing programs that empowered young BIPOC farmers and ranchers to step into leadership roles, advocate for policy change, and amplify their stories. She also designed and launched the organization’s inaugural fellowship program, equipping more than 200 emerging leaders with the skills, relationships, and tools to help transform agricultural decision-making across the country. Under Katherine’s leadership, Young Farmers organized the largest-ever fly-in of young farmers to Washington, D.C., and helped secure a landmark $300 million federal investment to expand equitable access to farmland nationwide.
Katherine is a Castanea fellow alumnus and serves on the Board of FarmStand. She holds a Bachelor’s in American Studies and Biology from Tufts University and a Master’s in Veterinary Public Health from the Royal Veterinary College. Katherine is passionate about building community power to transform systems and create a more equitable, sustainable, and healthy future for rural families and communities. Outside of work, she co-runs a small community riding program and enjoys spending time with her family, dog, and horses in Washington’s beautiful Methow Valley.
