PNW welcomes new Director

After an extensive search, we are pleased to share that Nathan Roberts has accepted the Director of Finance and Grants Administration role at Philanthropy Northwest.

Nathan holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington and comes to Philanthropy Northwest with 26 years of experience in various finance roles. Most recently, Nathan served as the Finance Director for Community Transit – Snohomish County, Washington’s local transit agency.  Before Community Transit, Nathan served in various non-profit finance roles, including Chief Financial Officer at Workforce Snohomish and finance director roles for both World Concern and Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. Nathan spent 17 years at Boeing, where he held a variety of finance positions in procurement finance and supported the 747, 767, and 777 airplane programs before transitioning to the nonprofit sector. 

Over the last several years, Nathan has developed a passion for utilizing his financial expertise both vocationally as well as helping individuals by teaching personal finance classes.  In his spare time, Nathan enjoys going to the beach and relaxing in the sun, travelling, reading, playing music, and spending time with family and friends.  He resides with his wife Michelle and their two cats, Mistletoe and Gingerbread, in Bothell, WA.
