Andy Ward, Huy Program Director

Huy is pleased to announce that Andy Ward has joined the organization as its first Program Director.

Most recently, Andy served as the Reentry Program Manager at Chief Seattle Club. Andy grew the program to serve over 500 people and was credited with the success of the reentry transitional house.  Andy enjoys life on the good Red Road and reciprocating its blessings. He is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and of Yakama descent. Andy earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Evergreen State College with a focus on Indigenous Studies and Social Work.

Huy (pronounced "hoyt") is a Washington State-based 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) non-profit corporation established in 2012 to provide religious, cultural, and rehabilitative support for Indigenous prisoners in the Pacific Northwest. The organization, whose name means "see you again/we never say goodbye" in the Coast Salish Lushootseed language, was founded to address violations of Indigenous religious rights within state prisons and to foster healing through traditional spiritual practices.

Carolyn Ho Consulting was honored to partner with Huy on this important transition from volunteer-led to hiring its first staff. Thank you to all who supported this search.
